Abstract

The purpose of the study was to the distribution of HLA antigens in tuberculosis. The distribution of HLA-A, -B, -C, -DR and -DQ locus antigens in 25 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis was compared with HLA antigens in 100 healthy persons. HLA antigens types were determined by using Terasaki's microlympocytotoxicity test. Patients with tuberculosis showed significantly increased frequencies of HLA-A19, A25 and Cw4 and decreased frequencies of HLA-Bw4, Bw6 and DR52 types. Large-scale investigations are needed to clarify the relation between antigens and diseases.
