Bu çalışmada 1 Ocak-31 Aralık 2005 tarihleri arasında Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Hastanesi'nde İnfeksiyon Hastalıkları ve Klinik Mikrobiyoloji Kliniği'nde üriner sistem infeksiyonu (ÜSİ) ve/veya ürosepsis tanısı ile yatan hastalar retrospektif olarak değerlendirildi. Abstract

The purpose of this retrospective study was to evaluate urinary infections in the elderly. Three hundred six patients with urinary tract infections (UTIs) and/or urosepsis seen at the Infection Disease and Clinical Microbiology Department, Ondokuz Mayıs University Hospital, between 1 January and 31 December 2005, were analysed. Of the 306 patients hospitalized, 49 (16%) were diagnosed urinary tract infections (UTIs) and/or urosepsis. Twenty six of patients (53%) with urinary infections were of age ? 65 years. Acute illness and poor prostration were higher in older patients than the younger ones (
