Özet
2007 Cumhurbaşkanlığı Seçimleri sürecinde, cumhurbaşkanı adayı üzerineyürütülen tartışmalarla biçimlenen ve tartışmaları biçimlendiren ideolojik inşanınirdelenmesi amacını güden bu çalışmada, egemenlik ilişkilerinin medya metinleri aracılığıylanasıl yeniden üretildiği çözümlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Cumhuriyet, Milliyet ve Zamangazeteleri internet sitelerinde konuyla ilgili yayınlanan haber ve köşe yazılarına eleştirelsöylem çözümlemesi uygulanarak ideolojik inşanın nasıl kurgulandığı sorgulanmıştır.Bunun sonucunda Cumhurbaşkanı adayının belirlenmesi ve açıklanması sürecinde basınsöyleminin, egemenin gücünü pekiştirir nitelikte olduğu saptanmıştır. İktidar partisive Başbakan, Cumhurbaşkanını tek başına belirleme ve seçtirme yetkisine sahip olarakkonumlanırken vatandaşların kendisine sunulan isme, demokratik sistem gereği çoğunluğasahip partinin adayı olmasından ötürü razı gelmesi doğal ve makul olarak sunulmuştur.
Abstract
Aiming to examine the ideological construction both shaped by and shaping thedebates on the presidential candidates in the process of Presidential Elections of 2007, thisstudy analyses the reproduction of relations of dominance by the media texts. Fictionalizationof the ideological construction is questioned by applying critical discourse analysis to relatednews and columns published on the websites of the newspapers Cumhuriyet, Milliyet andZaman. It is concluded that press discourse during the assessing and declaring period ofthe only candidate was such as to strengthen the power of the sovereign. The GovernmentParty and the President were positioned as the only authorities to determine the candidateand to get him elected while the acceptance of the candidate announced to the citizens waspresented as natural and reasonable because he was the claimant determined by the majorityparty in a democratic system.
