Abstract

In this study, the case and peace policies at the center of the Turkish Cypriot press and politics are examined. The first Turkish newspapers in Cyprus were both the result and the cause of the case politics since the Turkish Cypriot press was first introduced. This situation was broken with the Annan Referendum in 2004 and the TRNC press had changed and transformed in this context. Be-tween May and June 2018, in-depth interviews were conducted with 15 newspapers, public press institutions, journalists’ associ-ation and media ethics committee. A questionnaire was applied to reporters. The importance of the study is that the case concept, which has been historically at the center of the Turkish Cypriot press, is firstly considered as a field and then as a whole for the first time in terms of limitation. The highlight of the research is that stag-nation in both the case and the peace politics has entered a period of self-questioning.
