Özet

Bu makale 2013 yılının Mayıs ayı sonunda başlayan Gezi protestolarından 2014 yılının Mart ayında gerçekleşecek olan yerel seçimlere kadar geçen süreçte LGBTİ (lezbiyen, gey, biseksüel, trans ve interseks) Hakları Hareketi’nin siyasi seyrine ilişkin betimleyici bir değerlendirme sunuyor. Makale Türkiye’de LGB- Tİ Hakları Hareketinin tarihini ve LGBTİ Hakları Hareketi’nin yirmi yılı aşkın tarihinde seslendirdiği siyasi temsil iddiasını ve siyasi partilerle ilişkilerini inceliyor. LGBTİ hakları mücadelesi için yerel ölçekte siyaset yapmasının önemine vurgu yapan makale, LGBTİ Hakları Hareketi’nin Gezi protestolarından yerel seçimlere kadar geçen süreçte izlediği stratejileri inceliyor. Makale açık kimlikli LGBTİ bireylerin adaylıklarının ve LGBTİ dernek ile oluşumlarının siyasi partilere yönelik bilgilendirici ve baskı oluşturan çalışmalarının, Türkiye’de yerel ölçekte LGBTİ hakları taleplerinin gerçekleşmesine ilişkin olası etkileri üzerine bir tartışma ile son buluyor.

Abstract

This article offers an exploratory analysis of Turkey’s LGBTI Rights Movement’s political trajectory from the Gezi protests that sparked in May 2013 up until the local elections that will be held in March 2014. The article starts by examining the history of LGBTI Rights Movement in Turkey and the history of its claim to political representation as well as its relationships with political parties. Emphasizing the importance of doing politics at the local level for the LGBTI Rights Movement, the article looks closely at the political strategies that the Movement pursued from Gezi protests to local elections. The article ends with the discussion on the possible impacts of the candidacies of open LGBTI individuals and the activities of LGBTI organisations as well as initiatives that informs and puts pressure on political parties on the realization of LGBTI rights demands at the local level in Turkey.
