Abstract
Thermal effect is one of the most impartant parameters for electric motors. The thermal effect should analysis as detail by researcher. Hence the design of electric motor can be fixed with thermal analysis. In this study, the temperature distributions of the in-wheel brushless direct current (BLDC) motor were examined using the Lumped-circuit model scheme. Thermal effects change the performance of electric motors. However, they cause the permanent magnet to lose its magnetic properties without recurrence. They decompose insulators in motor windings. Because of all these factors, it should be noted that the thermal effect is a parameter that needs to be examined well before manufacturing. For this paper, 20-poles/24-slots with fixed power of 3000 W bus voltage and motor speed as 150 V and 1000 rpm has been preferred which is used more in light electric vehicles. Thermal analysis results and prototype thermal test were examined, the effects on the parts used in motor design were investigated, the results of the simulation studies overlap with the experimental test results reached a judgment that can be preferred before manufacturing.
