Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic, which started in China and spread rapidly around the world as from the first months of 2020, hasalso affected Turkey. Initially, in the countrieswhere the disease was inten-se, and then around the world, preventing the disease, treating diag-nosed patients and reducing death rates became the most important problem. In this struggle of countries, the number of hospitals, the number of intensive care beds and the number of doctors and nurses per patient took an important place. However, despite these develop-ments in the field of health, Turkey is still not among the best countries yet in the sort of patient beds worldwide but the number of intensive care beds is higher than the average of OECD countries. Although this is effective in keeping death rates low in Turkey during the Covid-19 pandemic, other factors need to be taken into account in addition tothe parameters that determine the success rate inthe fight against Corona. Perhaps the most important one among these factors is the successful crisis management carried out by the authorities. This study was conducted to determine the factors behind thesuccess of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in Turkey and the low death rates observed throughout the country.
