Özet
Bu çalışmada İran ipeğinin XVII. yüzyılda dünya piyasasına girişi incelenerek, ham İran ipeğinin dünya piyasasında lüks bir tüketim maddesi olarak baharata alternatif bir şekilde değer kazandığı tespit edilmektedir. Ayrıca, ipek ticareti Safevi Devleti'ne Avrupa gümüşü girişi sağlarken Osmanlı Devleti bu ipeğin geçtiği topraklar üzerinde olması nedeniyle gümrük gelirlerini arttırmıştır.
Abstract
This article examines the entrance of Iranian silk to the world market in the seventeenth century and presents that as Iranian silk became almost as significant as spice in the world market. Furthermore, while the silk trade provided the Safevid Empire the silver it needed, the Ottoman Empire gained much from the custom revenues.
