Abstract

This article examines the support of Orthodox Karaman Turks for the Turkish Independence War and the foundation of the Turkish Orthodox Patriarchy. The article argues that despite their support for the Turkish cause, Orthodox Karaman Turks were subjected to forced population exchange with Greece as stipulated in Lausanne Treaty
