Özet

Kanuni Sultan Süleyman döneminde Osmanlı hâkimiyeti altına alınan Bodrum, İstanköysancağına bağlı bir kale idi. Osmanlı fethinin ardından, kalede bulunan kilise camiye çevrildi. XVI.yüzyıl boyunca kale konumunu devam ettiren Bodrum, 1671 yılında da kale dışında varoşun, han,cami ve çarşının bulunmadığı bir yerleşim yeriydi. Kent XVIII. yüzyılda gelişme kaydedip, buradakale dışında yerleşim oluşmaya başladı. Bu süreçte 1723’te Bodrum’da görevli bulunan KızılhisarlıMustafa Paşa tarafından kentte kale dışında ilk cami yaptırıldı. Daha sonra liman kıyısında 1740yılında Mustafa Paşa’nın kâhyası tarafından da bir cami inşa ettirilip Tepecik Mahallesi ortaya çıktı.Böylece kentte yaptırılan yeni camilerle birlikte yeni mahalleler de şekillendi. Bununla birlikteBodrum’daki cami ve mescitlerin pek çoğunun XVIII. yüzyılda inşa edildiği anlaşılmaktadır. EskiÇeşme Mahallesi Mescidi (1746), Hızıroğlu Mescidi (Kelerlik Camii) (1756-1757), Türkkuyusu Camii(1767-1768), Yeniköy Mescidi (1774), Tulumba Mescidi (1780) ve Umurca Mescidi (1784)bunlardandır. Daha sonra uzun süre cami inşa edilmeyen Bodrum’da, Osmanlı dönemine ait soncami 1901 yılında yapımına başlanılan Adliye (Hamidiye-Çarşı) Camii’dir. Kale Caddesi’ninsonunda, eski belediye binasının önünde, Cumhuriyet Meydanı’nda bulunan bu camii, II.Abdülhamit’in kurmuş olduğu vakıf ve göndermiş olduğu paranın yanı sıra halktan toplanangelirlerle yapılmıştır. Osmanlı döneminde Bodrum’da yapılan en son cami olması sebebiyle halkarasında Yeni Camii ismi ile tanınmıştır. Bu çalışmada Osmanlı tarihi boyunca Bodrum’da yaptırılancami ve mescitler arşiv belgeleri ve kaynak eserler ışığında ele alınmaktadır.

Abstract

Bodrum, taken under Ottoman rule in Kanuni Sultan Suleiman period was a fortress depending on the İstanköy starboard. After the Ottoman conquest, church in the castle was converted into a mosque. Bodrum continuing the castle location during the XVI. century, was a residential outside the castle, ghetto, han, mosques and bazaars absence in 1671. The city made progress in the XVIII. century, here began to form settlements outside the castle. In this process, the first mosque was built outside the castle in the city by Mustafa Pasha of Kizilhisar, who was in charge of Bodrum in 1723. Later on, a mosque was built by Mustafa Pasha's minister in 1740 near the harbor and Tepecik Mahallesi emerged. So with the new mosque was built in the city, has shaped the new neighborhoods. However, it is understood that many of the mosques and masjids in Bodrum, emerged in the XVIII. century. These are Old Fountain Neighborhood Masjid (1746), Hizirroglu Masjid (Kelerlik Mosque) (1756-1757), Turkkuyusu Mosque (1767-1768), Yenikoy Masjid (1774), Tulumba Masjid (1780) and Umurca Masjid (1784). The last mosque belonging to the Ottoman period was built in 1901 in Bodrum, where a mosque was not built for a long time, is the Adliye (Hamidiye-Çarşı) Mosque. At the end of the castle street, in front of the old municipal building, this mosque located in Cumhuriyet Square,was made by the foundation that was founded by Abdülhamit and the money he had sent, as well as the income collected from the people. During the Ottoman period, due to the last mosque built in Bodrum, it is well-known among people as the New Mosque. In this study, the mosques and masjids built in Bodrum throughout Ottoman history are handled in the light of archive documents and references.
