Abstract

Two tomato cvs, Blizzard and Lfberto, were grown in Controlled Temperature (C.T.) room in order to investigate the effects of both low and high zinc supplies on plant growth, the chlorophyll content and some macro and micro elements in plant. Concentrations of Zn were 0.01, 0.5 and 5 mg/1. In terms of plant growth and chlorophyll content, the best results were obtained from 0.5 mg/1 Zn treatment. The plants grown at 0.01 mg/1 produced P toxicity and those at 5 mg/1 showed Fe deficiency. There were differences in responses of cultivars to low and high zinc supplies. However, there seemed to be no consistent link between cultivars and nutrient concentration within the plant.
