Abstract
The main aim of this study is to introduce Gaziantep, Mehmet Hayri Atay house wall-paint ings which were produced in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Although there are a number of publications on the historical and cultural heritage of Gaziantep, it has become a necessity to deal with the wall-paintings of Antep particularly as there is little information on them. In some buildings, wall-paintings grab the attention. Here, the wall-paintings found in Mehmet Hayri Ataty house will be introduced. In Antep, when the wall-paintings that could reach today are examined, the wide range of thematic repertoire can easily be observed. Along with Istanbul landscapes, which had been one of the main themes of wall-paintings since 18 th century, the depictions of some structures such as the Fenerbahçe Lighthouse, and the Maiden’s Tower, which were the landmark’s of 19 th century Istanbul, seascapes and pastoral landscapes whose exact location couldn’t be identifed, fgurative depictions, and landscapes that were identifed as Europe prove the variety of themes in these paintings
