The Analysis of Luis García Montero Poems from the Viewpoint of the Theory of Anthropological Structures of the Imaginary

Özet

Bu çalışmada çağdaş İspanyol şiirinin en önemli temsilcilerinden Luis García Montero'nun şiirlerinin İmgelemin Antropolojik Yapıları kuramına göre çözümlemeleri gerçekleştirilmektedir. Benimsenen yöntemi tamamlayıcı biçimde bireyleşme ve anima kavramları ile Analitik Psikolojiden de yararlanılmıştır. Çözümlemede yer verilen şiirler imgesel değerin belirleyici olduğu ve varoluşsal temaların ön plana çıktığı eserler arasından seçilmiştir. Öte yandan şairin söz konusu yapıtlarının genelini bu bağlamda temsil edebilecek niteliktedirler. İlgili eserlerde imgelem rejim ve yapılarının çeşitli düzeylerde yansımaları değerlendirilirken, bunlara bağlı olarak erginlenme, örtmece ve karşıtların diyalektiği gibi kavramların kurgu içindeki örnekleri de incelenmiştir. Yapılan çözümlemeler sonucunda ilgili eserlerinde García Montero'nun imgelemin gece rejimini, ayrıcalıklı, olumlu, ulaşılmak istenen olgulara dair imgelerin temsilinde kullanmayı tercih ettiği ortaya konmuştur. Özellikle de bu rejimin sentetik yapısı son derece belirgin bir biçimde, şiirlerde olumsuz nitelikleri üstünde toplayan öğelerin karşısında kutuplaşmaktadırlar. Bu yapı çeşitli şiirlerde değişik biçimler altında tekrar eden karşıtların diyalektiği formülü ile de kendisini açık bir biçimde göstermektedir. Sembolik düzeyde dişilik ile ilgili nesne, nitelik ve eylemler de bu yapının yansımaları ile doğrudan bağlantılı olarak sunulmaktadır. Özellikle de anima arketipini temsil eden karakterler ve diğer dişil öğeler bu bağlamda, şiir özneleri için bireyleşme süreci ile ilgili bir gereklilik olarak sunulmaktadır. İmgelemin Antropolojik Yapıları Kuramında, gece rejiminin karşıt kutbu olarak belirlenen gündüz rejiminin de söz konusu eserlerde tipik biçimleriyle yer aldığı ve olumsuz öğelerin çeşitli niteliklerini belirlediği ortaya konmuştur. Dolayısıyla, gerçekleştirmiş olduğumuz çözümleme açıklanan kutuplaşmanın Luis García Montero şiirlerinin imgelem boyutunda, belirleyici bir etmen olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Şiirin sunduğu kurmaca ister bireysel alanla sınırlı olsun ister toplumsal eleştiri niteliği taşısın yer verilen imgelerin belirtilen dengesi korunmaktadır

Abstract

This work consists of an analysis from the viewpoint of the theory of the Anthropological Structures of the Imaginary, on the poems of Luis García Montero, one of the most prominent representatives of contemporary Spanish poetry. The concepts of individuation and anima of Analytical Psychology have also been included to complement the method adopted in the analysis. The analyzed poems were selected from the ones that stand out in terms of the prominence of the figurative value and also from the ones with existential themes. Besides, they are works that, in this context, represent the majority of the works of the poet from this genre. While in the fiction, the reflections of the regimes of the imaginary are evaluated at various levels, the examples of initiation, euphemism and the dialectic of the opposites are put into analysis accordingly. As a result of the analyses it is stated that in the said works by García Montero the Nocturnal regime of the imaginary is used in the representation of the elements that are privileged, positive, and desirable. In particular, the synthetic structure of this regime is distinctly polarized as a counterpart of the elements that stand for the negative qualities. This structure also arises with the formula of dialectic of the opposites which repeats itself under different forms in various poems. Objects, qualities and actions that are related, at a symbolic level, to femininity are also presented in relation to the reflections of this structure. Especially, the characters which represent the anima archetype, and other elements of feminine nature are presented in this context as a requirement for the process of individuation. It is also put forward that the diurnal regime, counterpart of the nocturnal, as it is presented in the theory of the Anthropological Structures of the Imaginary, is also typically present and it is identified with certain qualities of the negative elements. Consequently, the analysis exhibits that, at the level of imaginary of Luis García Montero poems, the polarization that we referred to is a decisive factor. No matter if the fiction presented by the poem is related to the individual sphere or mainly expresses social criticism, the mentioned equilibrium in the imaginary is preserved
