Understanding Classical Poetry in the Centext of “Road” and “Traveler” Metaphors

Özet

Bu makalede; yol ve yolculuk metaforları çerçevesinde klasik şiirimizle ilgili tespitlerde bulunulmuştur. Edebiyatın bir yolculuk olduğu üzerinde durularak, bu yolculuğun zihnin ; zaman, mekan ,kültür,din felsefe, bilim ve hayat ülkesine yönelişi olduğu vurgulanmıştır. Şair, anlamlar semtine varmak için ruh ve hayal alemine yolculuğa çıkar. Bu yolculuk uzun sıkıntılı bir iştir. Nasıl ki edebi metin meydana getirmek bir yolculuksa onu anlamakta, bu metinleri şerhetmek de bir tür manevi yolculuktur. Makalemiz kısaca; edebiyat edebi metin ve yolculuk kavramları arasında ilişkiyi dile getirmektedir.

Abstract

This article aims to present evaluations about Classical Ottoman poetry with respect to “road” and “journey” metaphors. Literature can be counted as a kind of journey, which involves an orientation of the mind towards the country of time, space, culture, religion, philosophy, science and life. A poet is a person who makes a journey towards spiritual and imaginative world in order to reach the district of meanings. This journey can be long and exhausting. It is as much spiritual to understand and interpret a text as creating one. This article tries to explain the relationships among the terms literature, literary work and journey.
