Abstract

The main aim of this article is to discuss the problem of the value of life and death on Doctor Diego’s action - with its ethical background - in Albert Camus’s Martial Law. For this purpose it tries to show the value of Diego’s actions from the beginning to the end – including his evaluations, experiences and acts - from a philosophical-ethical viewpoint. Secondly this article aims to discuss, in brief, the problem of interruption of an undesired fetus in connection with the value of Diego’s action. For this purpose it tries to shed light on this medical - ethical problem by using philosophical knowledge about the value of life and death on Diego’s action.
