Abstract

In this article the author discusses a new novel aesthetics based on simplicity of verbalization, unaffectedness, ordinariness through the works of contemporary writers and critics such as Joude, Blanckeman, Ernaux, Houelle-becq, Toussanit, Echenoz who are deemed ‘indecidable’. This new aesthetics, one of the main features of postmodern literature, is interesting due to the facts that: it distances itself from doctrines of thought, absolute information, and all sorts of engagements; it opens cognitive sciences to discussion; and the interest it shows in the European society’s fashionable terms such as pluralism, comprehensive meanings, egocentricity, and its tendency towards ordinariness, superficiality, unaffectedness and plainness, outside the scope of the traditional stylistic meanings.
