Özet
In Sartre’s works, one of the greatest authors-scholars of his age, there are answers to the fewprinciple problems stemming from being human and notional and abstract answers to these:Philosophy gives us emotive and concrete solutions; art provides answers to application andin action there is all three. As works of Pascal and Racine, Descartes and Corneille, Hegel andGoethe and other author and scholar duos show similarity and one brings the other to mind, thereis evidence of Sartre’s philosophy in novels and vice versa. In time one may note a parallelismbetween his characters in his novels and himself. Roquentin in Nausea like Sartre before WWIIis far from active; he only thinks and reflects these in his notes; he chooses art. In the Roads to Freedom the philosophy teacher at the end of the first part tries of overcome his obsessions and save himself- thus choosing action. Sartre stopped writing novels at the end of the 1940’s and plays after The Condemned of Altona in 1959. He also did not publish the second volume to the Critique of Dialectical Reason; this is because he has decided to find solutions to the problems of the people of his age not through philosophy and art/literature, but through action
