Özet
Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı deneklere farklı tipte yüklenmelerle yaptırılan pliometrik egzersizlerden sonra antioksidanlar, reaktif oksijen türleri (ROS) ve nitrik oksit (NO)'in fonksiyonel önemini araştırmaktı.
Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this study -was to investigate the functional importance of nitric oxide (NO), ROS (reactive oxygen species) and antioxidants that exert complex effects on muscle contraction after plyometric exercise with different types of loading in subjects. Material and methods: Subjects were divided randomly into three groups; first group was plyometric training group with own body weight (own body weight) (n=7), second group was plyometric training group with extra load on leg (sand bag) (10% body mass) (n=7), third group was plyometric training group with special load vests (load vest) (10% body mass) (n=7). Subjects in each group trained 3 days per week, for eight weeks. Results: Following exercise for eight weeks, the increase in thiobarbiturlc acid-reactive substances (TBARS; lipid peroxidation) and total sulfhydryl (RSH) was found to be lower in the chronic plyometric exercise carried out with load vest group when compared with the other two groups. When the acute effects of exercise are taken into account the lowest increase in TBARS and RSH was observed in the group who carried out plyometric exercise with their own body weight. Conclusion: It was concluded that plyometric exercises performed with load vest were more beneficial due to the fact that lower TBARS and RSH values were obtained in this group. However, in non-trained individuals the initial training should be performed with the body weight, which will result in less oxidant stress.
