Özet

Bu çalışma, yaban domuzlarında viscerocranium'u oluşturan kemiklerin spesifik anatomik özelliklerini araştırmak amacıyla yapıldı. Bu amaçla her iki cinsiyetten toplam 5 adet yaban domuzu kullanıldı. Viscerocranium; os nasale, os lacrimale, os zygomaticum, os palatinum, maxilla, os incisivum ve mandibula'dan oluştu. Processus septalis, tek uca sahipti.

Abstract

This study was carried out to investigate the specific anatomical features of the bones forming viscerocranium in wild boar. A total of five animals were used without sexual distinction. Viscerocranium was consisted of os nasale, os lacrimale, os zygomaticum, os palatinum, os maxillare, os incisivum, and mandibula. The septal processes had single point. The zygomatic arch extended obliquely. Foramen palatinum majus was completely located on the maxilla. The infraorbital foramen was very wide and, located about the middle of the facial surface of the maxilla. The frontal process of the zygomatic bone was small and sharp, projected dorsally. The temporal process was large, projected in the caudal and slightly dorsal direction In conclusion, it was macroscopically determined that the bones forming viscerocranium was similar to those of domestic pig.
