Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan sağlık çalışanlarının, %22.5’i hekim, %58.3’ü hemşire, %7,5’i ebe %11.7’si sağlık personeli olup, yaş ortalaması±standart sapması 35.11 ± 7.13’dür. Elde edilen bulgulara göre sağlık çalışanlarının %45’inde engellilik olmadığı, %40’ında hafif, %3.3’ünde ciddi derecede bel ağrısı şikayetleri olduğu belirlenmiştir. Oswestry Sorgulama Formu’na göre yapılan istatistiksel değerlendirme sonucunda; meslek, en uzun süre yaşanılan yer, cinsiyet, ekonomik durum ve ağrı başlama zamanı ile ağrı sorgulama puan ortalamaları arasındaki fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur (p

Abstract

Objective: This study was performed as a descriptive study to examine the frequency and factors affecting the low back pain in health care workers Material and Methods: The universe of the study was formed by 167 health care workers who are working in Odemis Public Hospital. No sample selection was made in order to reach the whole universe. As a data collection tool, a questionairre about the socio-demographic information of the workers and Oswestry Low Back Pain Questionairre were used. In the evaluation of the data, TTest, Mann-Whitney-U test and Kruskal Wallis tests were used. Results: Among the health care workers who have participated in this study; 22.5% of them were physicians, 58.3% of them were nurses, 11.7% of them were health care workers. Mean age of participants was 35.11 ± 7.13. According to the findings of the study; it was determined that 45% of the workers had no disability, 40% of them have minor, 3.3% of them have major low back pain complaints. According to the statistical analysis of Oswestry Lomber Pain scale; the difference between the occupation, the longest living location, gender, economical status and the pain occurence time and the average pain questionairre scores were found to be significantly different between the groups (p < .05). Conclusion: The results of this study revealed that low back pain starts generally after getting started to work and it is more commonly seen in nurses compared to other health care workers. We recommend to develop effective training programs to protect the spinal health in health workers who were determined to have risks for low back pain.
