Abstract

In this study, elasto-plastic analysis by the theorems of structural variation of buildings with opening have been studied. In the study, by defining "compensating loads" related with the theorem unit loading conditions for a triangular and rectengular element were given. In order to be able to analyse the structures with openings, 5 unit loadings were applied to the rectangular element to be changed and 5 variation factors have been determined necessary for solution. Isoparametric rectangle finite elements were concerned for numerical solutions, while "Initial Tension Method" was used for elasto-plastic analysis. An algorithm was developed, which can analyse by the theorems of structural variation of buildings with opening, according to the results obtained. Using the theorems of structural variation, same changes were done on the main structure and the analysis of the new structure was obtained from the known solution of the main structure without reanalysing the new structure. In addition, the use of the theorems was more practical and economical because of the less equations required for the analysis.
