İbn Haldun'un Eğitim Felsefesi

Abstract

The study deals with the meaning of human comprehension, and educational purposes in the selected works of ibn Haldun (1332-1406), who is generally accepted as a founder of the philosophy of history and one of the pioneers of the sociology. In the article, firstly the concept of man, his capacity of understanding and comprehension, then purposes of education are discussed. In conclusion, ibn Haldun) s views on education are compared with modern philosophies of education.
