Abstract

Intrauterine device (IUD) insertion is a long-acting and one of the most effective modes of reversible contraception.Complications that most commonly arise following IUD insertion are failed insertion, pain, vasovagalreactions, infection, menstrual abnormalities, and expulsion. In this paper, we present the case of a womanwho experienced hydronephrosis due to the migration of IUD into the ureter after 30 years of insertion. Tothe best of our knowledge, this is the third such case reported in the literature.
