Özet

Hekimlik, insanın var oluşu ile başlayan ve insanlara sağlıkları ile ilgili yardımcı olabilmek için onlarla devamlı iletişim halinde bulunulması gereken önemli bir meslek grubudur. Hekimlerin hastalarını etkin dinleyen, etkili konuşan, aralarındaki iletişime engel olabilecek her türlü durumu ortadan kaldıran iletişim tekniklerine sahip olması beklenir. İletişimin doğuştan kazanılan bir yetenek olmayıp, süreç içerisinde kazanılan ve geliştirilebilen teknikler bütünü olması önemini arttırır. Hekim ile hastası arasındaki ilişki zaman içerisinde, hekimin talimatlarının hasta tarafından sorgusuz uygulandığı doktor merkezli yaklaşımdan uzaklaşarak, şikayetleri hakkında birçok kaynaktan, teknolojik imkanlardan faydalanarak bilgiler edinen ve muhtemel hastalığıyla ilgili kendisine yol gösterilmesini bekleyen hasta profiline doğru bir gelişim yaşamaktadır. Hekimlik pratiğinde etkili iletişimin önemi her geçen gün artmaktadır. Bu durumda hekimlerin gerek hizmet içi eğitimlerle, gerekse kişisel olarak etkili iletişim becerilerini geliştirmesi önem kazanmıştır.

Abstract

Medical profession is an important group of professions that begins with the existence of human beings and must be in constant communication with people in order to help them with their health. It is expected that, physicians must possess communication techniques for effectively listening to their patients, speaking effectively, and removing any situations that may interfere with communication between them. Communication is not an innate skill, it is a collection of techniques that can be acquired and developed in the process and that increases its importance. Over time the relationship between the physician and the patient is getting away from the doctor-centered approach where the physician's instructions are applied unquestioningly by the patient and it is developing towards the patient profile who is obtaining information from many sources, including utilizing technological opportunities, about his complaints and waiting to be guided about his possible illness. The importance of effective communication in the practice of medicine increases day by day. In this case, it has become important for physicians to develop effective communication skills, either through personal development or with in-service trainings.
