Özet
Bu araştırmada, günümüz küresel çevre problemlerinden biri olan "sera etkisi" ile ilgili öğretmen adaylarının kavram yanılgılarının tespit edilmesi ve bu kavram yanılgılarının giderilebilmesi, etkin bir çevre eğitiminin gerçekleştirilmesi için öneriler sunulması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, 16 ifadeden oluşan 3'lü Likert tipi ölçek ile öğretmen adaylarının "sera etkisi" ile ilgili bilgi edinme yollarını ortaya çıkarmaya yönelik bir açık uçlu soru kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı, Gazi Üniversitesi, Gazi Eğitim Fakültesinde (3.sınıf) öğrenim görmekte olan 140 öğrenci tarafından cevaplandırılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular, öğretmen adaylarının nükleer kirlenmenin sera etkisini artıracağı, sera etkisi arttığında insanların yiyeceklerden zehirleneceği gibi kavram yanılgılarına ve CFC, metan gibi diğer sera gazlarının etkileri ile ilgili bilgi eksikliklerine sahip olduğunu göstermiştir.
Abstract
The aim of this research is to determine the student science teachers' misconceptions about the global environmental problem: "greenhouse effect". In this study to find the students science teachers' misconceptions about "greenhouse effect", three points Likert type scale questionnaire form which is consisted of 16 statements and to find out the way of gaining knowledge about "greenhouse effect", one open ended question was used. The questionnaire was completed by 140 student science teachers from Gazi University, Gazi Faculty of Education. An analysis of the survey data indicated that, most of the pre-service science teachers have misconceptions like "the greenhouse effect is made worse by radioactive waste", "if the greenhouse effect gets bigger more people will get food poisoning" and poor understanding of the environmental issue like the effects of other gasses that contributes the greenhouse effect like CFCs and methane.
