Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı kuruluş amaçlarına hizmet etme bakımından Anadolu Öğretmen Liseleri'nin (AÖL) etkililiğini değerlendirmektir. Çalışmada, 302 aday öğretmene anket ve tutum ölçeği uygulanmış, AÖL'lerin ÖSS başarı oranları ve 2002'de AÖL'lerden mezun olmuş 4612 öğrencinin ÖSS verileri incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular AÖL'lerin genel orta öğretim kurumları içinde Fen Liselerinden sonra ikinci en başarılı okul türü olduğu ve yüksek öğretime geçen mezunlarının büyük çoğunluğunun öğretmen yetiştiren programlara yerleştiklerini göstermiştir. Bu programlara yerleşen mezunların diğer liselerden mezun aday öğretmenlerden; üniversite giriş puanı, tercih sırası, öğretmenlik mesleğini tercih etme nedenleri, öğretmenlik mesleğine adanmışlık ve akademik başarı bakımından farklılık gösterirken, tutumları açısından farklılık göstermemektedir.

ATHS graduates studying in teacher training programs are different from the graduates of other high schools with respect to UEE scores, the priority they gave to the teacher training programs in the UEE, reasons for preferring teaching as a profession, commitment to teaching as a lifelong career and academic achievement in teacher training programs however they are not different with respect to attitudes toward the teaching profession.
