Özet
This research aims to contrast between the Arabic, Turkish and Kurdish languages, with respect to definite and indefinite subjects. It is unique by being concerned with three languages belonging to different language families. The research relied through which it described the subject in each of these languages from a contrastive linguistic perspective. It produced the following results: The subject in Turkish is called “Özne and in Kurdish “Kirde”. The Arabic language is unique in that, the subject is considered definite in it, if it is prefixed by “al of definiteness” or if it is added to a lexically definite or states as a proper noun, a pronoun, a demonstrative or a relative pronoun. The subject is however considered Indefinite, if it is free from any of these determiners. The subject in Turkish is unique by having no suffixes to make it definite or indefinite. So it is made indefinite with additional vague words. And when making it definite, these words are neglected. In Kurdish the subject is distinguished by the presence of suffixes. They are: “-ê”, “-a” for the singulars, “-ên” for the plural and with the presence of the indefiniteness affixes: “-ek” for the singular,”-in” for the plural. In addition to six other suffixes.
