Amaç: Bu çalismada Gaziantep il' inde sağlık ocaklarına başvuran 15 - 49 yaş evli kadınların doğum öncesi, doğum ve doğum sonrası bakım hizmetlerini ne oranda alabildiğinin ve etkileyebilecek faktörlerin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır Gereç ve Yöntem: İlçeler kırsal ve kentsel nüfuslarına göre ağırlıklandırılarak en az 500 evli kadının araştırmaya alınması planlanmıştır. İlçelerden basit rastgele örnekleme yöntemi ile toplam 23 sağlık ocağı araştırmaya seçilmiştir. Mart-Nisan 1999 tarihleri arasında sağlık ocağına başvuran her 15 - 49 yaş evli kadına anket uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: Kadınların % 24.1'inin son gebeliklerinde herhangi bir doğum öncesi bakım almadıkları, kadınların son doğumlarının % 10.2'sinin sağlık personeli yardımı olmaksızın yapıldığı saptanmıştır. Kadınların yaklaşik yarısı (% 55.8) son doğumlarından sonra hiçbir doğum sonrası bakım hizmeti almamıştır. Kırsal bölgede oturmak, kadının ve eşinin eğitim düzeyinin düşük olması, sosyal güvence eksikliği bu hizmetlerin kullanımını olumsuz yönde etkilemektedir(p

Abstract

Objective: In this study we aimed to evaluate the prenatal, natal and postnatal care given to 15-49 year old married women who applied to the health centres in Gaziantep and the factors that can effect these. Material and Method: The population of the district were weighted according to the their urban and rural population, and it was planned to include 500 women in this study. The 23 health centers included in this study were chosen by the simple random sampling method. We applied a questionnaire to all of the 15-49 year old currently married women who applied to the chosen health centers between March and April, 1999. Results: It was determined that 24.1% of the women did not receive any prenatal care during their last pregnancy and 10.2 % of the women gave birth to their last baby without the assistance of a trained health personnel. Approximately half the women (55.8 %) did not receive any postnatal care after their last birth. Living in a rural area, the low education level of the women and their husbands, as well as the lack of social insurance negatively effects the usage of these care services (p
