Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Altı Şapkalı Düşünme Tekniği'nin ilköğretim altıncı sınıf öğrencilerinin sosyal bilgiler dersindeki akademik başarısına olan etkisini belirlemektir. Araştırmanın evreni, Elazığ İli Bahçelievler İlköğretim Okulu altıncı sınıfa devam eden 110 öğrencidir. Örneklemi ise, yansızlığı sağlamak için dört ölçüt kullanılarak yapılan kümeleme (cluster) analizi sonucunda belirlenen toplam 50 öğrencidir. Araştırma deneysel bir model üzerinde yürütülerek "öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu" desene göre planlanmıştır. Deney grubuna, Altı Şapkalı Düşünme Tekniği dikkate alınarak hazırlanmış günlük planlarla, tekniğe uygun dersler işlenmiş, kontrol grubunda ise geleneksel yöntemler (düz anlatım, soru-cevap) kullanılmıştır. Veriler, başarı testi ve görüşme soruları ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda Altı Şapkalı Düşünme Tekniği'nin başarıyı daha çok artırdığı, öğrencilerin özellikle beyaz şapkanın takılması konusunda ısrarlı davrandıkları belirlenmiştir. Buna göre, başarıyı artırmada öğrencilerin daha aktif olduğu yöntem ve teknikler kullanılmalıdır denilebilir.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the academic achievement of "the Six Thinking Hats Technique" in Social Studies among the sixth grade primary education students. The population of the research has been the sixth grade students of the Bahçelievler Primary School in the province of Elazığ. The samples are in total 50 which have been chosen from the population. The research has been applied via the experimental design by planning "pre-test, post-test in a control group". In the experimental group, lessons were followed by daily plans which were prepared according to "the Six Thinking Hats Technique", and in the control group traditional methods such as lecture and catechetical method were used. The data has been collected via achievement test and interview questions. At the end of the research, it has been determined that "the Six Thinking Hats Technique" has improved the achievement much more and the students were willingful to wear especially the white hat. In order to improve the achievement of students, methods and techniques should be used in which they are more active.
