Abstract
Carl G. Jung who says the individuals who form the society not only carry personal unconscious, but also collective unconscious. This view which affects the psychology world deeply, was then reflected to literature too. Archetypical literature critism which was under the effect of anthropology and psychoanalysis mostly is a reading product centered. Through archetypes, myths, tales and other folk literature works can be analyzed and also the works whose authors are known can be analyzed. Thus, in addition to the spirit world of the author, the common unconscious of the society in which the author is a member is seen. In a sense, the anthropology of the literary work is made to reveal the deep cultural elements present in it. In other words, it is not the author who speaks in the work, but it is the society that has flourished from the depths of history. The long story/novel of Ömer Seyfettin who leaded a life in an important historical period of the nation which he belonged, is a proof of struggle for existence which is rooted deep and the years experienced. This story which reflects the pessimistic atmosphere of the period when the work was written, , is also a declaration of the will of indepences to exist outside of common consciousness. It was seen that the story which has a sociopsychological depth is analyzed in terms of hero, villain, mother, animus etc. archetypes gives us abundant materials in terms of social unconscious. In this context it was clear one more time that the literary work doesn’t have only one author, the auhtor mentioned before is only an anthologist; because its author is the society itself. With this study, over the literary work which is the reflection of collective uncosncious, it was endeavoured to see the mind map of Turkish people and social memory.
