Özet
Coğrafi bilgi sistemlerin kullanım alanları bütün dünyada hızla artmaktadır. Bu sistemler sayesinde, gelişen dünyamızda sön derece önemli bir konu haline gelen harita tabanlı verilerin ve diğer veritabanlannın işlenmesi oldukça kolaylaşmıştır. İşte bu nedenle bu çalışmada Çukurova bölgesinin toprak özelliklerini içeren bir veritabanı oluşturulmuştur. Böylece, bu veritabanı kullanılarak Çukurova bölgesiyle ilgili sorgulamalara anında cevap alınabilmektedir. Bu çalışma sonucunda bölgede narenciye bahçesi, botanik bahçesi veya yeni yerleşim yeri tesis edilebilecek en uygun yerleri, yeni yollar ve kanallar için güzergahtan belirlemek mümkündür. Oluşturulan coğrafi veritabanma yeni özelliklerin eklenmesi ve yapılacak yeni sorgulamalar ve analizler ile her zaman yeni ve güncel raporlar hızlı bir şekilde elde edilebilecektir.
Abstract
The use of geographic information systems are becoming widely established all over the world. For our rapidly developing world, GIS contributed much for making easy to process data from the map-based databases as well as other types of databases. In this study, a database which contains data for the soil characteristics of the Çukurova Region in Turkey was created By use of this database it is possible to search and find information about the Çukurova Region in various aspects, quickly. Queries can be formed to access information for finding the best suitable places to establish citrus plantations, botanical gardens, residental areas, roads and canals in the region. Also, it will possible to handle updated and extended reports when extra modules which are able to query and analyse the related data added to the geographic database created in this study.
