Abstract

Children with hydrocephalus are commonly treated with a ventriculoperitoneal shunt for diversion of cerebrospinal fluid. Complications of ventriculoperitoneal shunts are reported in 24-47 % of cases. These include mechanical malfunction and infection, cerebrospinal fluid collection, visceral perforation and shunt migration. We are reporting a cass of hydrocele with migration of the peritoneal catheter into the scrotum. In this report, we discussed the mechanisms of development of scrotal migration.
