DEATH IN LITERATURE AND THE SUICIDE LITERATURE THEME IN POET NIGAR HANIM'S POEMS

Özet

Edebiyatın ölüm ve intihar fikriyle ilişkisi genellikle intihar eden ya da intiharı deneyen sanatçılar üstündendeğerlendirilir. Eğer konu sadece intiharsa o zaman da felsefî, sosyolojik ya da psikolojik sebepleri üzerindedurulur. Oysa bir yazma eylemi olarak intiharın değerlendirilmesi sanatçıyı ve eserini anlamada yardımcıolabilecek bir bakış açısı sunabilir. Bu nedenle intiharın yazın formu olarak ortaya konuluşunu Osmanlı’nınünlü kadın şairlerinden biri olan Nigâr Hanım’ın şiirlerinden hareketle değerlendirilmiştir. Nitekim onunşiirlerinde ölüm konusu önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Efsûs I, Efsûs II, Nirân ve Aks-i Sadâ adlı kitaplarında şairiniç dünyasına ve özel yaşamına dair imgelerin yoğunluk kazandığı görülmektedir. Mutsuz bir hayatı olan şairözellikle artık hayatta olmayan sevdiklerine şiirler yazmaktadır. Öncelikle küçük yaşta bir trafik kazasıneticesinde kaybettiği kardeşi için yazdığı şiirlerinde şairin oldukça hassas bir ruh hali taşıdığını görmekteyiz.Annesinin ölümünün ardından babasının intihar etmiş olması Nigâr Hanım’ın şiirlerinde ölüm konusunun dahabüyük bir önem kazanmasına neden olmuştur. Ondört yaşında şiir yazmaya başlayan şairin gençken intiharaeğilimli düşüncelerinin yaşı ilerledikçe hayattan yakınmalara dönüştüğünü söyleyebiliriz. Bu noktada “yazarkenölmek” fikrini irdelemek gerektiğini düşünmekteyiz. Biz bu çalışmamızda Nigâr Hanım’ın eserlerinde ölümkonusunun romantik bir duyuşla kaleme alındığını göstermeye çalışacağız. Edebiyatta ölüm konusunu da biryönüyle tartışmaya çalışacağız.

Abstract

The relationship between literature and the idea of death and suicide is generally evaluated concerning artists who commit suicide or attempt suicide. If the subject is just a suicide, then its philosophical, sociological or psychological reasons are emphasized. However, the evaluation of suicide as a writing activity can provide an understanding of the artists and their work. For this reason, in this article, the suicide as a form of writing was put forward using the poems of Nigar Hanım, one of the famous women poets of the Ottoman Empire. As a matter of fact, the theme of death has an important place in her poems. It is seen that the images about the poet's inner world and private life have been intensified in her books, Efsûs I, Efsûs II, Nirân and Aks-i Sadâ. The poet, with an unhappy life, especially writes poems to her loved ones who are no longer alive. First of all, we see that poet carries a very sensitive mood in her poems she wrote for her brother who had lost in a traffic accident at a young age. The fact that her father committed suicide after her mother's death caused the theme of death gained more importance in Nigâr Hanim's poems. We can say that thoughts of poet who started writing poetry at the age of fourteen, the theme of suicide at a young age turned into a horrible complaint as her age progressed. At this point we think that the idea of "die while writing" needs to be examined. In this work, wewill try to show that the theme of death in Nigâr Hanım's works is taken with a romantic feeling. We will also try to discuss the matter of death in literature in a certain way.
