Abstract

In this study, numerical results are obtained for incompressible fully developed turbulent flow both in pipes and channels with the standard k-$varepsilon$ turbulence model. One-dimensional Navier-Stokes equation is nondimensionalized according to the k-£ turbulence model before the solution. The k-e solution was obtained using finite difference implicit method. Solution uses an iterative process to converge the solutions of velocity u, turbulence kinematic viscosity VT, turbulent kinetic energy k, and turbulent dissipation rate $varepsilon$. Then, velocity profiles, friction coefficients and turbulent kinematic viscosity are obtained and compared with the available data in the literature.
