Kırmızı çamur (red mud) katkılı çimentolarla üretilen betonların mukavemetleri üzerinde çalışmalar

Studies of the strengths of concretes produced from the cements prepared with the addition of red mud

Özet

Bu çalışmalarda, metalik Alüminyum üretim tesisleri atığı olan kırmızı çamurun kiinkerlere ilave edilerek bir tür katkılı çimento üretilebileceği gösterilmiştir. Maksimum % 7 oranında kırmızı çamur katkılı çimento ile yapılan betonların 28 günlük mukavemetleri norm sınırları içinde bulunmuştur. Bu tür çimentolarla üretilen betonların 600 °C'de 5 saat müddetle ısıtılmaya maruz kalmaları sonunda bile orijinal dayanımların en fazla % 15'ini kaybettikleri gözlenmiştir. Daha sonra yeniden 28 gün süre ile suda bekletilen bu ısıtılmış betonların, kaybettikleri mukavemetlerini % 35 oranında geri kazanabildikleri gözlenmiştir.

Abstract

In this study, it was shown that some special kind of cements prepared by adding red mud and gypsum to clinker could be produced. Strengths of the concretes made with he cements containing max. 7 % red mud are found to be in the acceptable limits. It was also observed that these kind of concrets lost nearly 15 % of their strengths after the heat treatments at the temperature of 600 °C for 5 hours. These heat treatted concretes recovered 35 % of their original strengths when they were left in contact with water for 28 days.
