The Views of Curriculum Laboratory School Teachers Related to Computer Assisted Education

Özet

21. yüzyılın yaşandığı günümüzde her şey hızla değişmektedir. Teknoloji, insanların yaşam tarzları, beklentileri, hayat standartları değişmekte; kendini yenilemektedir. Bu değişimden en çok etkilenen alanlardan biri de şüphesiz eğitim ve öğretim olmuştur. Bilgisayar Destekli Eğitim (BDE); bilgisayar öğretimini, bilgisayarların eğitim yönetiminde kullanımım ve bilgisayar desteği ile ders işlemeyi içeren bir süreçtir. Çağdaş bir öğretmene düşen görev ise bu süreç içerisinde yer almaktır. Her ne kadar Türkiye 'de yaygınlaşması ekonomik gelişmelere bağlı olsa da, bilgisayar destekli öğretimin yeni ve kullanılabilir bir öğretim yöntemi olarak algılanması bile bu yolda atılmış bir adım olarak değerlendirilmelidir. Bu çalışmanın yapılmasındaki amaç, Dünya Bankasının desteği ile yapılandırılan ve zengin bilgisayar kaynağına sahip olan Müfredat Laboratuar Okullarında (MLO), yapılması hedeflenen projelerin gerçekleşip gerçekleşmediğini saptamak, bu okullarda görev vapan öğretmenlerin koyulan hedeflere ulaşmada gerekli olan donanıma sahip olup olmadığını araştırmak ve Bilgisayar Destekli Eğitime bakış açılarını belirlemektir. Yapılan bu çalışmanın bu konuda görülen aksaklıkların giderilmesine ve başka çalışmaların oluşturulmasına ışık tutması düşünülmektedir.

Abstract

In the on going 21st century there are very rapid changes in many fields of life . Technology , peoples way of living , their expectaiions and living standards are changing or being modernised. Obviously , the fıeld of Education is one of the fields which is affected from these changes . Computer Assisted Education ( CAE) is a process in education which involves the teaching of computer to students , the use of computers in Management of Education and the giving of lectures with the assistance of computers . What a modern teacher should do is that he / she takes place in this process and be a part of it. Although the widespread use of computers in education depends on the improvements in the economic conditionsin Turkey, even the consideration of Computer Assisted Education as a new and applicable teaching method should be considered as a step forward to achieve this aim. The alm of this study is to find out whether the projects in the Curriculum Laboratory Schools ( CLS) which are constmcted with the supports of the World Bank are realised or not, to investigate whether the teachers posses the necessary equipment for the predetermined goals and to determine their views about Computer Assisted Education. This study aims at being a guide to solve the problems encountered during the application of the Computer Assisted Education and pave the way for the studies of other researchers .
