Eğitim Kurumları Performansının Geliştirilmesinde Özdeğerlendirmenin Önemi

Özet

Son yıllarda her alanda olduğu gibi eğitim alanında kalite kavramı çok konuşulur hale gelmiştir. Kalitenin sürekli geliştirilmesi, dünyadaki eğitim kurumlarıyla yarışabilecek hale gelmesi büyük önem kazanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda yürütülen çalışmalardan biri de Toplam Kalite Yönetimi çalışmalarıdır. Bu çalışmalarla, okulun/kurumun sadece dış denetçiler tarafından denetlenmesi değil, kendi kendini değerlendirerek, özdeğerlendirme yaparak, eksiklerini belirlemesi, bu doğrultuda iyileştirme çalışmaları gerçekleştirilmesi, hedeflerini oluşturması amaçlanmıştır. Özdeğerlendirme ile teftiş iki ayrı konu olarak değil, okulun etkililiğini artırmada bir bütün olarak düşünülmeli, özdeğerlendirme kriterleri ile teftiş kriterlerinin aynı amaca, okulun performansının geliştirilmesi amacına, hizmet etmesi sağlanmalıdır. Bu iki süreç, denetim ve özdeğerlendirme, birbirini bülünleyen süreçler olarak görülmelidir.

Abstract

Like in other sectors, the quality concept in the education sector becomes one of the most issued things. To be able to develop the quality continuously, to be able to compete with the worldwide education institutions become very important. Total Quality Management is one of the studies done in this direction. These studies have the aim that the school/institution are not checked only by outside inspectors,but they perform a self-evaluation, they define incomplete things and they perform improvements in this direction. Self-evaluation and inspection have to be not issued as two different topics.They have to be issued as a whole to increase the effectiveness and the self-evaluation and the criterions eriterions have to serve to develop the performance of the school. These two processes, inspection and self-evaluation have to be assumed as processes completing each other.
