Abstract
Multiple endocrine neoplasia Type 2B is an autosomal dominant disease characterized by medullary thyroid cancer, pheochromocytoma, mucosal neuroma, megacolon and skeletal abnormalities. The disease is caused by a mutation of the RET proto-oncogen. Although the syndrome is rare it can be easily diagnosed by typical appearance of the patients compared to those with other MEN syndromes. In this paper a typical case with MEN 2B and its effective surgical treatment is presented.
