Abstract
Intraperitoneal rupture is one of the rare complication of hydatid disease leading to transient peritoneal irritation of varying intensity (1,2,11). In this report, we present a patient with an intraperitoneally ruptured liver hydatid cyst located in the right lobe of the liver. In this case, despite iutraperitonel rupture of liver hydatid cyst, it is interesting that there is no anaphylaxy. For postoperative prophylaxy, high dosage mebandazole was used during one year. Preoperatively, CT showed the rupture of the cyst and the peri hepatic and intraperitoneal fluid collection. We reviewed the case with the literature.
