Abstract

Fibroadenomas occupy the first place, in terms of prevalence, among benign breast disorders in adolescent girls. Juvenile giant fibroadenoma is a special though rare form, which must be recognised in terms of differential diagnosis from virginal hyperplasia and phylloid tumours, the prognosis of which is different. Solitary juvenile fibroadenomas should be treated by simple excision to preserve normal breast tissue. Follow up is recommended because of possible recurrent tumor of a short time. We also report a case of fibroadenoma of the breast, "juvenile type", in a 16-year-old girl.
