Özet
Bu araştırmada, öğrencilerin üniversite ve bölüm tercih ederken dikkate aldıkları faktörler incelenmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan anket formu Sivas Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Sağlık Hizmetleri MYO’da öğrenim gören toplam 238 öğrenciye uygulanarak araştırmanın verileri elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin istatistiksel analizinde frekans tabloları, çapraz tablolar ve ki-kare bağımsızlık testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma neticesinde, öğrencilerin büyük çoğunluğu tercih işleminden önce seçtiği bölüm ve meslek hakkında yeterli bilgi sahibiyken bölümün akademik kadrosu hakkında yeterince bilgi sahibi değildirler. Üniversitenin aileye yakınlık durumu ve öğrencinin yerleştirme puanının yeterliliği, öğrencilerin üniversite seçimini etkileyen en önemli faktörler olarak ön plana çıkmaktadır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin bölüm tercih nedenleri ve tercih işleminden önceki bilgi düzeyleri ile yerleştikleri bölümden memnuniyetleri arasında anlamlı ilişkiler tespit edilmiştir.
Abstract
In this study, the factors that students take into consideration when choosing university and department are examined. The questionnaire form, which was formed by the researcher as a data collection tool, was applied to a total of 238 students studying at Sivas Cumhuriyet University Vocational School of Health Services and the data of the research was obtained. In the statistical analysis of the data obtained, frequency tables, crosstabs and chi-square independence test were used. As the result of the research, the majority of the students have sufficient knowledge about the department and job they have chosen before the preference process and they have not enough knowledge about the academic staff of the department. Being close of university to family and adequacy of students’ placement score come forward as the most important factors affecting students’ university choosing. In addition, significant relationships were determined between students' satisfaction with the department and both their reasons for preference of the department and the level of knowledge before the preference process.
