Millî Mücadele'de Kastamonu

Özet

Kastamonu ve havalisi, Osmanlı Devletinin imzalamış bulunduğu Mondros Mütarekesi sonrasında başlayan işgaller devresinde herhangi bir işgale marûz kalmamış olmasına rağmen, Millî Mücadeleden yana tutum sergileyerek, vatanın işgallerden kurtarılması süreci nde önemli görevler üstlenmiştir. Mondros Mütarekesinin hemen akabinde Kastamonu ve çevresinde millî teşkilâtlanmaya gidilmiş, kısa sürede Müdafaa -i Hukuk Cemiyetinin Kastamonu Şubesi kurulmuş, Kastamonu ve havalisi askerî teşkilâtlanması tamamlanmış, te rtiplenen mitingler ile millî heyecan her zaman için zinde tutulmuş, basın -yayın faaliyetleri ile halk gelişmekte olan olaylar hakkında zamanında bilgilendirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada, Kastamonuda Millî Hareketin teşkilâtlanma süreci ve Kastamonunun Millî Mücadeleye olan katkıları üzerine tespitlerde bulunulması düşünülmüştür

Abstract

Kastamonu and its neighbourhood, located in the Northern Anatolia, played a crucial role in the protection of the homeland against occupations following the World War I. However, this part of Anatolia had never been occupied in the wake of the Armistice of Mudros signed by Ottoman government. Following the armistice a branch of the Association for Defence of National Rights was promptly established and organized in the region. Moreover, armed forces were settled and meetings were or ganized. Local people were informed on ongoing events through the press. Thus, this study aims to shed light to some remarkable points on the organization of the national movement in Ka stamonu and its neigbourhood as well as the contribution of the city to the War of Independence .
