Özet
Bu çalışma, Samsun ili Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi öğrencilerinin genetiği değiştirilmiş organizmalı (GDO) ürünler ile ilgili bilgi seviyelerinin, tutum ve tüketim davranışlarının belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın birincil ve temel materyalini Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi’nde okumakta olan ve gayeli olarak seçilmiş ilgili fakültelerin dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinden anket yoluyla elde edilen veriler oluşturmaktadır. Öğrencilerin sosyoekonomik özellikleri basit istatistiki yöntemlerle genetiği değiştirilmiş organizmalı (GDO) ürünlere ilişkin bilgi seviyeleri tutum ve tüketim davranışları; Bilgi, Tutum ve Uygulama (BTU) analizi ile incelenerek karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre öğrencilerin, GDO ürün tanımı ve özellikleri konusunda yeterince bilgi sahibi olmadıkları ve farklı algılarının oldukları söylenebilir. Öğrencilerin genetiği değiştirilmiş organizmalı (GDO) gıdalara yönelik bilgi seviyesinin artması ile beraber değiştirilmiş organizmalı (GDO) gıdalara yönelik tutum da anlamlı düzeyde artmaktadır.
Abstract
This study is carried out to determine the knowledge levels, attitudes and consumption behaviors about organic and genetically modified organism (GMO) products, in Ondokuz Mayis University students in Samsun. The primary and basic material of the study is the data collected from the fourth grade students of the related faculties in Samsun Ondokuz Mayis University. The socioeconomic characteristics of the students are analyzed by simple statistical methods; Information, Attitude and Practice (BTU) analysis is used to analyze and compare of the knowledge levels of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) attitude and consumption behaviors. According to the results of the research, it is possible to say that the students do not have enough knowledge about the definition and characteristics of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) products and they have different perceptions. With the increase in the level of knowledge of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) for food, the attitude towards modified organisms (GMO) foods is significantly increased.
