Abstract
Abstract: Phocaea was one of the most important ports of Western Anatolia opened to the Mediterranean in Archaic Period and it established commercial relations with many cities and regions in this period. Etruria was among the regions having relations with Phocaea. The presence of Etruscan amphoras in Phocaea proves contact between these regions. All the studies are on Etruscan amphoras that are found in Italy and the Western Mediterranean. Phocaea will also enter into the expansion area of Etruscan amphoras the subject of the article. Etruscan amphoras which are found in Phocaea are divided into two groups according to their forms. Although they are different in form, both types are contemporary, so that there is no chronological and typological distinction in the amphora production in Etruria. Etruscan amphoras are just used for trans- portation of Etruscan wine. The Etruscan amphoras that are found in Phocaea are dated to the beginning of the VIth century B.C. This date is also important for the commercial relationship between Phocaea and Etruria.
