YALANCI TROMBOSİTOPENİ SAPTANAN BİR OLGU

Özet

EDTAya bağlı psödotrombositopeni; EDTA ile antikoagüle edilen kandaki trombositlerin kümeleşmesi sonucu normalden düşük olarak saptanması ile karakterize yalancı trombositopeni durumudur. Çoğu zaman gerçek trombositopeni ile karışabilmekte ve gereksiz iş gücü ve zaman kaybına, hastada ise gereksiz tedirginliğe ve tedavide gecikmelere neden olmaktadır. Burada trombositopeni nedeniyle inguinal herni operasyonu ertelenip tedavisi geciken, sonradan psödotrombositopenisi olduğu anlaşılan bir olgudan bahsedilmiştir.

Abstract

EDTA-dependent pseudothrombocytopenia is the phenomenon of a spurious low platelet count due to platelet agglutination in blood anticoagulated with EDTA. It causes unnecessary labor and time-consuming, the patient anxiety and delay in the requerent treatment. In this paper, we report a case with inguinal hernia whose operation were canceled due to trombositopenia and treatment was delayed and later it was demonstrated that the patient had pseudotrombositopenia.
