Abstract
This study was conducted in the rangelands of Erzurum Center, Ilıca, Aşkale and Çat districts to determine Cicadellidae (Homoptera) species and their relationships with some rangeland quality factors in 2001. During the surveys in 86 areas, totally, 34 species were determined. Among these species, Circulifer haematoceps (Mulsans and Rey) with 709 specimens from 72 localities; Stenometopiellus angorensis (Zachvatkin) with 289 specimens from 51 localities; Doratura exilis (Horvath) 212 specimens from 36 localities were found as most widespread species. The soil samples were taken from each survey area, and distance to village, stony, slope, grazing, altitude, erosion and depth of soil were recorded. Relationships between the number of specimens in the research areas and some rangeland quality factors, distance to village, stony, slope, grazing, altitude, erosion and depth of soil, were studied. Analysis of the data revealed that negative very significant relationship between density of C. haematoceps and grazing, and positive very significant relationship between the insect density and altitude (P
