Tiroid hastalıklarında ince iğne aspirasyon sitolojisinin (İİAS) tanısal değerini araştırmak üzere tiroid hastalıkları nedeni ile ameliyat edilen hastaların İİAS sonuçları parafin blok incelemeleri ile karşılaştırıldı. İİAS uygulanan 233 hastanın 216'sında sonuç postoperatif histopatolojik tanı ile uyumlu idi. Çalışmada İİAS'nin sensitivitesi %71, spesifitesi %100, diyagnostik doğruluğu %97 olarak bulunmuştur.
Abstract
To evaluate the prognostic value of fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) in diseases of the thyroid, the results of FNAC in 233 patients, who had been treated surgically for thyroid disease, were compared with parffin block sections. The results showed correlation with postoperative histopathologic diagnosis in 216 patients. The sensitivity, specifity and diagnostic accuracy of fine needle aspiration cytology were found to be 71%, 100%, and 97% respectively.
