Abstract
BİLSEM are centers that provide education for gifted and talented students. This study was conducted in Erzurum Remzi Sakaoğlu Science and Art Center. The aim of the study is to examine the opinions of the gifted students who have taken at least one year of chemistry education in the "Developing Special Abilities" and "Recognizing Individual Abilities" education programs about the course of chemistry. A structured written interview form consisting of eight open-ended questions was directed to the study group and in line with the answers received, the expectations and satisfaction of the students attending BİLSEM towards the chemistry course at the point of noticing and developing their abilities were evaluated. The case study method was used as a qualitative research model in the study and the findings were analyzed by the content analysis method. When the written interview forms applied to the students are examined; It was observed that female students were satisfied with their current educational situation, and male students' expectations were higher than the existing education system. It is seen that students generally agree that the materials, tools, and equipment found in chemistry laboratories in Science and Art Centers are not sufficient. They stated that talented female students found the chemistry lesson sufficient, while gifted male students did not have enough time for the experiments, so the course hours should be increased. It is seen that the students in both groups agree that the chemistry course given in Science and Art Centers provides permanent learning. It is not an expected situation for some male and female students in the Special Skills Development and Recognition of Individual Talents groups to see the education they receive in Science and Art Centers as a priority over their friends in daytime schools. Competitiveness for gifted students who are aware of their own potentials and beyond their group characteristics reaches an agreement with neither personality traits nor with the establishment purpose of BİLSEM.
