Özet

Ortaöğretim öğretmenlerinin eğitimde teknoloji kullanımına yönelik görüşlerinin ve bu doğrultuda teknoloji entegrasyon düzeylerinin belirlenmeye çalışıldığı araştırmada çeşitli branşlardan 378 öğretmen katılımcı olarak yer almıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması modelinin kullanıldığı araştırmada, veri toplama aracı olarak yazılı görüş formundan yararlanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel ve içerik analizi yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada öğretmenlerin azımsanmayacak bir kısmının teknoloji kullanımını zaman alıcı, alanlarına uygun olmayan, faydasız faaliyetler olarak görmelerinden dolayı derslerinde teknoloji entegrasyonunu gerçekleştirmedikleri anlaşılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin çoğunluğunun teknolojik araçları ders notlarını yansıtmak, video izlemek ve alıştırma çözmek için kullandıkları görülmüştür. Bu durum, öğretmenlerin derslerde çoğunlukla sadece kendilerinin etkileşime girebileceği donanım/yazılım kullanımına yönelik tercihleriyle birlikte değerlendirildiğinde, genellikle öğretmen merkezli sınıf organizasyonları gerçekleştirdikleri anlaşılmıştır. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin çoğunluğunun öğrencilerin derslerde teknolojik araçlardan yararlanmasına olumsuz baktıkları veya kararsız kaldıkları anlaşılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin önemli bir kısmının teknoloji kullanımına yönelik eğitim almadığı, eğitim alanların çoğunluğunun ise branşlarının öğretimine yönelik özel bir eğitim almadığı görülmüştür. Öğretmenlerin temel yazılım ve donanımları kullanmada sorun yaşamadıkları fakat bunun sadece “yer değiştirme” düzeyinde bir entegrasyon sağladığı anlaşılmıştır. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin alanlarına özgü çeşitli yazılımları kullandıklarında derslerinde “yükseltme” düzeyinde bir kolaylaştırma sağladıkları fakat öğrencilerini aktif olarak sürece dahil edemedikleri görülmüştür. Öte yandan öğretmenlerin derslerinde uygun pedagojik yaklaşımlarla öğrencilerinin de teknolojik araçlarla etkileşime girmelerini sağladıklarında “dönüştürme” düzeyinde bir entegrasyon gerçekleştirdikleri anlaşılmıştır.

Abstract

378 teachers from various branches participated in the study in which the secondary education teachers' views regarding the utilization of technology in education and accordingly, their levels of technology integration were tried to be determined. In the study, in which case study model, one of the qualitative research methods, was utilized, a written opinion form was used as a data collection tool. Descriptive analysis and content analysis methods were utilized in the analysis of the data. The study revealed that a considerable amount of the teachers did not conduct the technology integration in their classes since they regarded its utilization as time-consuming, inappropriate and useless activities. It was observed that the majority of the teachers utilized the technological tools for projecting lecture notes, watching videos, and solving exercises. Considering this case, together with the teachers' preferences regarding the utilization of software/hardware, with which mostly they can directly interact, it is understood that they usually conduct teacher-centred classroom organizations. The research also revealed that the majority of the teachers either had a negative attitude or were indecisive towards the utilization of technological tools by students in the class. It was observed that a significant part of the teachers did not receive training regarding the utilization of technology, and the majority of those who received training did not receive any specific training regarding their teaching branches. The study revealed that the teachers did not face difficulties while using basic software and hardware, yet this only achieved an integration at a "replacement" level. Additionally, it was observed that the teachers achieved facilitation in "amplification" level in their classes when they utilized various software specific to their fields, yet could not actively involve their students in the process. On the other hand, it was understood that when teachers enabled their students to interact with technological tools through appropriate pedagogical approaches in their classes, they achieved integration on a “transformation” level.
