Van Sağlık Yüksekokulu Hemşirelik ve Sağlık Memurluğu son sınıf öğrencilerinin eğitimlerine ve mezuniyet sonrasına ilişkin görüşleri

The senior students opinions about their education and post-graduate life in the Nursery and Health Officery Departments of Van Health College

Özet

Tanımlayıcı ve karşılaştırmalı nitelikte olan bu çalışma; Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Van Sağlık Yüksekokulu'nda, 11-15 Mart 2002'de yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın evrenini IV. Sınıf Hemşirelik ve Sağlık Memurluğu Bölümlerinde öğrenim gören öğrenciler (65 kişi), örneklemini de verilerin toplandığı günlerde derse gelen öğrenciler (56 kişi) oluşturmuştur. Tüm öğrenciler, gönüllü olarak çalışmaya katılmıştır. İlgili literatür ve gözlemler doğrultusunda hazırlanan anket formu ile toplanan veriler sayı ve yüzdelik hesabı, ki-kare ve Fisher's kesin ki-kare testleri ile değerlendirilmiştir. Öğrencilerin %75.0'inin bu okulu en son sıralarda, en çok, istediği başka bir yükseköğrenim programını kazanamadığı için tercih ettiği belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin %94.6'sı bu okulda aldığı teorik eğitimi, %87.5'i uygulamalı eğitimi yeterli bulmadığını ve bunun pek çok nedeni olduğunu belirtmiştir. Mezun olmak üzere olan bu öğrencilerin %42.8'inin mesleğini sevmediği, %71.4'ünün çalışma yaşamı için kendisini hazır hissettiği, mezuniyetten sonra en çok eğitimle ilgili alanlarda çalışmak istedikleri belirlenmiştir. Çağdaş hemşirelik hizmeti için eğitim kurumlarının ve sistemin iyileştirilmesi ve yenilikçi stratejilere yönelmek gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Abstract

This descriptive and comparativ study has been performed in the Health College of 100 th Year University in Van on the dates between 11th and 15th March 2002. The population of the study has been comprised by the students who have been training in the Nursery and Health Officery Departments (65 persons), while the sample of the study has peen comprised by the students who joined the courses during the days on which the data have been collected (56 persons). However, all the students have been joined voluntarily in the study. The data collected in the questionnaire which was prepared in accordance with the related literature and observations were analysed by percentage account, chi-square, and Fisher's exact chi-square tests. It has been fonud out that 75 % of the students chose this school at the end of the rank because they had not been succesful in joining in another school that they wished in the Highschool exam. 94.6 % of the students said that the theoritical education they had in this school has been inadequate while 87.5 % of them pointed out that the practical education has been inaduquate, and there have been a lot of reasons for it. It has also been found out that 42.8 % of this students who have been about to be graduated have not liked their occupation, 71.4 % of them have felt ready for the work life, and that they most have wanted to work in the fields related to education after they would have been graduated. It has been concluded that the educational enterprises and the educational system should be modified and newer strategies should be conducted for the modern nursery services.
